Twitter ropes in Taranjeet Singh as sales head for India
Micro blogging service Twitter has appointed Taranjeet Singh as the head of sales for its Indian operations. Based at the firm's office in Gurgaon, he will be responsible for working with brands and agencies to maximise the value of real-time marketing on the site.
"We have seen strong usage of our platform across the board last year and now is a great time to increase our local sales presence by bringing in Taranjeet as our country business head. We've seen growing momentum from brands and agencies to use Twitter to connect with their audiences in real-time for major events as well as everyday moments in India," said Parminder Singh, Twitter's managing director for Southeast Asia, India and Middle East and North Africa.
Taranjeet has a PG diploma in management from Amity Business School. With over 19 years of experience, he has been associated as sales director, South Asia for BBC Advertising. He has also worked with Outlook Publishing.
In September, Twitter India had appointed Anupam Dikhit as its first 'industry manager'. Dikhit is expected to provide support for advertising campaigns, leveraging its platform for live and public conversations, in addition to working with marketers to increase customer engagement.
