Urban Ladder appoints Geetika Mehta as its director of HR
Bangalore-based Urban Ladder Home Decor Solutions Pvt Ltd, which runs online furniture shop Urban Ladder, has appointed Geetika Mehta as its director of human resources (HR).
"With her robust experience in HR, Geetika will play a key role in nurturing talent, as well as training and building future leaders for Urban Ladder. A key mandate is to ensure that Urban Ladder continues to be a great place to work at, even as we grow rapidly," said Rajiv Srivatsa, co-founder and COO, Urban Ladder.
Before Urban Ladder, Geetika was heading the HR department of apparel manufacturer Puma. She has over eight years of experience in the HR sector and had earlier also worked at confectionery company Cadbury. She holds an MBA degree from XLRI Jamshedpur.
Launched in July 2012 by Ashish Goel and Srivatsa, Urban Ladder deals across categories like beds, sofas, dining tables, tables and bar units, storage and shelves, seating and accessories (trays, mirrors, laundry basket, etc). It claims to offer over 1,000 products across 25 categories. The firm also plans to expand the product range and service to 25-30 cities in India by March 2015.
Of late, the company has been aggressive with its hiring efforts and plans to triple its headcount in the next one year. In August last year, Urban Ladder had appointed Avinash Shekhar as its chief financial officer (CFO).
The startup had raised $20 million in its Series B round of funding led by Steadview Capital, with participation from existing investors, including SAIF Partners and Kalaari Capital, in June last year.
