Hungama partners Snapdeal to bundle entertainment content to shoppers
Delhi-based Jasper Infotech Pvt Ltd, owner of e-commerce firm Snapdeal, and Mumbai's Hungama Digital Media Entertainment have joined hands to roll out bundled offerings such as premium music videos with every purchase on the e-tailer's mobile app.
To begin with, Hungama.com is currently offering shoppers on Snapdeal a free access to its premium PRO service which consists of HD quality music videos with lyrics of songs for nine weeks.
Hungama PRO, is an ad-free paid subscription service whose content can be accessed offline as well. After this offer, customers will be charged Rs 120 per month for the service.
Early this month Hungama had also come out with a similar offer for subscribers to Aircel. The PRO services was launched six months ago with a free one month trial.
"We want to encourage the growing love of apps by providing customers with what they love most - high quality uninterrupted music and awesome deals on the go," said Sandeep Komaravelly, SVP, marketing at Snapdeal.com.
Last month Saavn had sealed a similar co-marketing deal with free two months subscription to its premium service to Snapdeal shoppers on Android.
According to a recent Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) report, that pegged India's internet population at 300 million by December 2014, entertainment and shopping are among the biggest drivers of internet usage on mobile phones.
"With music and shopping being among the primary drivers of mobile internet consumption, our tie-up aims to offer users an enhanced value proposition. 2015 is likely to be a vital year for brands to out to Middle Bharat, and tie-ups like this will help our brands to attract a larger share of the consumer's mind space," said Siddhartha Roy, CEO at Hungama.com.
