Cleartrip enables in-app changes to allow users to reschedule domestic flights

Cleartrip Travel Services Pvt Ltd, which runs the online travel booking site Cleartrip.com, has launched a new feature to allow users to reschedule their domestic flights via its app.

To make use of the feature, customers simply need to tap on 'reschedule' next to the domestic trip that needs to be changed, choose alternate travel dates for the onward and/or return journey, and select the passengers for whom the change of flight is required. Post that, a list of flights along with their fares is displayed to indicate the difference that needs to be paid. Customers can select the desired flight, review their selection and make the final payment.

Mumbai-headquartered Cleartrip is one of the top online travel firms in India, alongside Makemytrip.com, Yatra.com, and Goibibo.com. Earlier this year, Cleartrip had expanded its hotels product with the launch of weekend getaways service.

Back in 2011, Concur Technologies, a NASDAQ-listed travel and expense management solutions provider, had invested $40 million for a minority stake in the company. Other investors in Cleartrip include DAG Ventures and Draper Fisher Jurvetson. In May 2014, Sherpalo Ventures, the venture capital firm launched by Google board member Kavitark Ram Shriram, had exited Cleartrip. The investor had sold its entire stake in the company to Concur.
