Club Ah! to partner Canadian affiliate to allow NRIs to invest in Indian startups
Club Ah!, a network of around 360 investors, is in advanced talks to enter into a partnership with an affiliate network in Canada to allow individual investors to back Indian startups, sources privy to with the development told Techcircle.in.
When contacted, Harshad Lahoti, partner, Ah! Ventures confirmed the development but refused to provide details on the partnership.
Ah! Ventures was founded in 2009 by Lahoti, a serial entrepreneur and angel investor and Abhijeet Kumar, an engineer who also runs an ITeS firm Pronto Infotech.
It invests between $100,000 to $1 million into startups in technology sector besides those focusing on bottom of the pyramid domain.
Till date, it has invested in six startups including gaming firm HashCube, crowdfunding platform Ketto and Catapoolt, education startup Testbook. The firm had earlier started investing in seed round with another education startup uFaber Edutech and is in advanced talks to fund another startup in the on-demand cab space.
It aims to back up to twelve startups over the next one year.
