Cloud solutions firm 8K Miles buys electronic health record co SERJ
California-headquartered cloud solutions provider 8K Miles Software Services Ltd has acquired SERJ Solutions, which provides electronic health record (EHR) consulting, custom applications and support solutions, for an undisclosed amount.
This deal will enable public listed 8K Miles to offer cloud-managed solutions to the healthcare industry, it said in a press release.
"By taking advantage of our expertise in cloud, information security and healthcare, this acquisition will allow us to create a suite of cost-effective hosted SaaS solutions that healthcare providers can deploy. This will enable organisations to improve operating margins in a short period of time, and use scarce capital to focus on patient care," said Suresh Venkatachari, chairman and CEO of 8K Miles.
8K Miles was founded by Venkatachari, along with Lena Kannappan (COO), RS Ramani (CFO) and Harish Ganesan (CTO). A cloud solutions and managed services company, it provides SMAC (social, mobile, analytics and cloud) solutions for connectivity between consumers, SMBs, enterprises and government agencies. Its flagship solution EzIAM provides capabilities for user management, user provisioning, and access requests for end users.
Besides US headquarters, it has offices in Ontario in Canada and Chennai in India.
Founded in 2008, California-headquartered SERJ offers EHR planning, implementation and support process to the healthcare services providers.
"8K Miles is planning to invest substantially in building secure healthcare cloud solutions, with EHR market knowledge and implementation experience. It will create a clear differentiator in the market place to serve hospitals and healthcare providers," said Shibu Kizhakeveilayil, president of SERJ.
