Affle appoints Amit Sharma as head of mobile apps and analytics platform AppStudioz
India and Singapore-based D2C Inc, which operates under the brand name Affle, a mobile apps & ads as a service (MaaS) platform, has appointed Amit Sharma as the managing director (MD) of Affle AppStudioz, its mobile apps and analytics platform business.
Commenting on the appointment, Anuj Khanna Sohum, founder, CEO and chairman, Affle, said, "Sharma has played an important role in Affle's journey since the start of our operations. We believe that his leadership, expertise and experience will steer Affle AppStudioz in the right direction and align the business with our mobile apps and ads platform strategy."
A founding team member of Affle's India business, Sharma has played multiple roles in the company in the last eight years. In his most recent role, he led the company's international sales and delivery team. Prior to Affle, he was manager, IT at The Indian Express Group. He had earlier also worked at Algort Technologies Pvt Ltd. Sharma holds a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Computer Science from Vaish College of Engineering, Rohtak.

In September this year, Affle had acquired Noida-based Appstudioz Technologies Pvt Ltd, the company behind AppStudioz, for an undisclosed amount. With the acquisition, AppStudioz was merged with Affle's media lab business and had become a fully-owned subsidiary of Affle's Singapore-based holding firm, Affle Holdings. The company is also setting up of a R&D facility in India to help strengthen its mobile app & ads technology platform.
Along with the appointment of Sharma, the company has also announced that Saurabh Singh and Snigdha Singh, the ex-promoters of AppStudioz are no longer associated with Affle Appstudioz Pte Ltd and Appstudioz Technologies Pvt Ltd.
Founded in 2005, Affle provides MAAS platform to marketers & publishers. Affle's businesses also include ad2campaign (an integrated mobile attribution, delivery and demand-side platform), and Ripple (a cross-screen mobile-focused monetisation platform). The firm's investors include D2C Japan (a NTT DoCoMo subsidiary), Microsoft Corp, Itochu Corporation of Japan, Bennett Coleman Company Limited (BCCL) & Centurion Private Equity.
Last September, Affle in partnership with Mobile Marketing Association (MMA) had launched M2X Fund, a $3.3 million corpus fund that will be used to invest in brands, publishers, app developers, agencies and startups in the mobile sector.
