Urban Ladder appoints Manu Prasad as its director of brand marketing

Bangalore-based Urban Ladder Home Decor Solutions Pvt Ltd, which runs online furniture shop Urban Ladder, has appointed Manu Prasad as its director of brand marketing. In his new role, Prasad will be in charge of the company's brand marketing efforts across offline and social media platforms, the company said in a statement.

He will report to Rajiv Srivatsa, co-founder and COO, Urban Ladder, and will be a part of the senior executive team. Prior to Urban Ladder, Prasad has worked with GroupM, Myntra.com and the Times Group across brand marketing, social media and advertising verticals.

"Over the last two years, we have largely built the brand on social media with word of mouth about our product designs and customer service. We are confident that Prasad will help us achieve our long term vision of making Urban Ladder the most preferred furniture brand in India" said Srivatsa.

Off late, the company has been aggressive with its hiring efforts and plans to triple its headcount in the next one year. In August this year, Urban Ladder had appointed Avinash Shekhar as its chief financial officer (CFO).

The startup had raised $20 million in its Series B round of funding led by Steadview Capital, with participation from existing investors, including SAIF Partners and Kalaari Capital, in June this year.
