Excl: Online marketplace for preventive health check-ups Healthians.com raises seed funding
Gurgaon-based Expedient Healthcare Marketing Pvt Ltd, the company behind Healthians.com, an online marketplace for preventive health check-ups, has raised an undisclosed amount in seed funding from a healthcare-focused startup accelerator, a top executive of the company told Techcircle.in.
"We can neither disclose the name of the investor nor the deal size. That said, the funds will be used to partner with various firms for marketing and introduce new services like video conferencing with doctors, in addition to expanding our operations to new geographies," said Shruti Gupta, associate director of Healthians.
The company was founded by Deepak Sahani in April this year. In addition to aggregating services from diagnostic centres, comparing prices and providing discounts on them, Healthians also provides recommendation on preventive check-ups based on age, gender, risk areas and symptoms.
Currently, the startup has partnered with around 300 hospitals, including Vedanta, SRL and Apollo, besides 70 diagnostic centres across 22 cities. The firm claims that around 200 users use its services every day, with each user spending around Rs 1,500. The firm charges 5-25 per cent commission on each transaction.
Healthians.com mainly competes with HDFC PE-backed Mediangels.com, which is also in advanced talks to raise funding. The firm is a second-opinion site and an e-hospital that negates the need to visit a doctor unless a physical intervention (surgery) is needed. Mediangels.com claims it has partnered with over 21,000 diagnostic centres across India.
