Motorola launches new flagship Moto X & Moto 360 Smartwatch in India; new Moto G smartphone available for Rs 12,999
Motorola today announced the launch of its next flagship smartphone Moto X in India. Instead of naming it Moto X2 or Moto 2X, the company is simply calling it the new Moto X. The new smartphone features a bigger display, a curved metal frame, and runs on the latest, unadulterated version of Android.
While its exact pricing for India is not available as of now, if we convert its off contract US pricing, it comes to around Rs 30,230 ($499.99). However, we feel a better pricing would be closer to that of its predecessor, which was launched for Rs 23,999.
In addition, the company has also launched its next Moto G offering (again being called the new Moto G) in an exclusive partnership with Indian e-commerce major Flipkart.com. This one has been priced at Rs 12,999, and will be available for purchase starting midnight on the e-com site.
The last in line to be launched is the Motorola's Smartwatch offering Moto 360. According to the company, the Smartwatch is a classically-designed modern timepiece that displays timely notifications based on where you are and what you're doing. This one is priced at Rs 15,115 ($249.99) in the US.
Both the new Moto X smartphone and Moto 360 are expected to be made available for purchase in the country later this month.
"A year ago we re-launched Motorola with a very clear purpose- to give you more meaningful choices that put you in control of your mobile experience. Today we take that promise to the next level with the introduction of the new Moto X and Moto G smartphones, Moto 360 watch, Moto Hint wireless ear bud and Motorola Power Pack Micro," read a post on the official Motorola blog.
