Rocket Internet-backed PrintVenue.com crosses 500K orders; plans to venture into customised home accessories space
Rocket Internet-backed printing solutions startup Printvenue, which offers a suite of online services for business printing and individual requirements, claims to have crossed the five lakh orders mark. The Gurgaon-based company was set up in July 2012 and claims to be growing at a rate of around 15 per cent month on month.
"Recently, we crossed the 1,000 orders-a-day mark and have completed five lakh orders since our launch in India," said Saurabh Kochhar, co-founder and MD of Printvenue.
The company is focusing on both B2B and B2C markets, which contribute equally to its revenue. It had also forayed outside India by establishing a separate country specific site for Singapore and claims of selling 1,000 orders per month in the city, contributing about 15 per cent of its total revenues. The average ticket size of the transaction in Singapore is more than 5X in comparison to India.
The 100-employees strong startup plans to further expand in other Southeast Asian countries as soon as Rocket Internet gets listed or once they raise funds from other investors.
Printvenue offers a suite of customised printing services for both businesses and personal requirements, cutting across categories like business cards, crystal photo frames, t-shirts, mobile skins and so on. Presently, it has 500 SKUs.
"We plan to launch the home accessories category with products like customised pizza server, chopping board and wine glasses, etc. next month," informed Kochhar.
In terms of USP, the company also claims that it has the best in-house pre-press process including engraving, embossing, sublimation and last format. It has also ventured into the 3D printing category. While some orders are printed in-house, others are outsourced. The company is focusing on marketing through online channels like Google, social media, blogs and other local channels.
There are several players in this space. Recently, another such company called Printland raised about $1 million from SIDBI Ventures and its existing investors. Other key players are Printo which is backed by Sequoia Capital; Delhi-based Printbazaar which also offers printing solutions for home parties, gifting & personal use; and NASDAQ-listed Vistaprint which entered the Indian market by acquiring online marketing solutions provider Printbell.
Notably, Rocket Internet also has a separate printing services venture which is currently operational in Brazil under the brand name Zocprint.
