MTS Blaze 5.0 smartphone launched in India for Rs 10,999; Karbonn Titanium S9 Lite available for Rs 8,990
Telecom operator MTS has further expanded its Blaze range of smartphone offerings with the launch of a new device. Christened Blaze 5.0, the device runs on the Android operating system and has been priced at Rs 10,999. In addition, Karbonn's budget smartphone offering Titanium S9 Lite has also surfaced on a number of e-commerce stores for a price of Rs 8,990.
Here is a look at the specifications of the devices.
The smartphone has a 5 inch FWVGA touchscreen display (480x854 pixels resolution) and runs on the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system. It is powered by a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 quad-core processor and has 1GB of RAM. The internal memory of the device (not disclosed as of now) can be further expanded up to 32GB with a microSD card.
It has an 8 megapixel autofocus rear camera with Flash that can also record videos, as well as a front facing camera for video calling. The company has provided a 2,500 mAh battery in the device, which also comes with dual-SIM capability (GSM+CDMA).
The device will be available for purchase in select circles like Delhi, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, UP West, West Bengal and Kolkata. MTS is providing 100,000MB of data that is valid for a year with the smartphone, which can be activated via Rs 198 worth of recharge. The company has also preloaded a number of apps in the device that include MTS Playground music, MTS TV and MTS Wizard.
"Smartphones today are one of the biggest drivers of data consumption in the country. Blaze 5.0 has been powered by Qualcomm S4 quad-core processor and has been exclusively designed to cater to the internet generation," said Leonid Musatov, chief marketing and sales officer at MTS India.
Karbonn Titanium S9 Lite for Rs 8,990
This one comes with a slightly bigger 5.5 inch qHD capacitive touchscreen display and runs on the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system. It is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor and has 512MB of RAM. The internal memory of the device is 4GB that can be further expanded up to 32GB with a microSD card.
Titanium S9 Lite has an 8MP autofocus rear camera with Flash that can also record videos, as well as a 2MP front facing camera for video calling. On the connectivity front, it has Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 3G and a microSD card slot. The company has provided a 2,500 mAh battery in the device, which also comes with dual-SIM capability (GSM+GSM). In comparison, big brother Titanium S9 features a 5.5 inch IPS HD touchscreen display (1280×720 pixels resolution) and is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor. The device runs on the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system and has 1 GB of RAM. The internal memory amounts to 16 GB, which is expandable up to 32 GB with a microSD card.
Titanium S9 has a much better 13MP autofocus rear shooter with Flash that can record videos and a 5MP front-facing camera that can record videos as well. In terms of connectivity, the device has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and 3G, and also comes with a microSD card slot. The company has provided a 2,600 mAh battery in the device that also has GPS (with A-GPS support) and dual-SIM support. Karbonn Titanium S9 is priced at Rs 19,990.
