BoxTV's business head Pandurang Nayak quits the company, joins Airloyal as its chief of products
Pandurang Nayak, the business head of Times Internet's online video service BoxTV has quit the company. Post his exit, Ashish Behl, head- content acquisitions at the company has taken over Nayak's responsibilities on an interim basis.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Nayak had left BoxTV last month and has now joined Airloyal, a mobile app startup as its chief of products. The startup offers 'Ladooo', a mobile recharge app that enables its users to get free mobile recharge for just checking out ads and offers. According to the company, no registration is required for using the app, and it takes less than two minutes to get your first free recharge.
The app supports all leading telecom operators like Airtel, Aircel, BSNL, MTNL, Idea, Loop Mobile, MTS, Reliance, Tata Docomo, Tata Indicom, Uninor, Videocon, Virgin Mobile and Vodafone. While pre-paid customers can directly recharge/top-up their accounts, post-paid customers can use their wallet money for recharging any pre-paid mobile be it their own, or of family and friends.
The Android app is available free of cost on the Google Play app store, and new offers are updated every day, so users can keep earning free recharge and talk time. Users can also earn extra cash for referring friends, with Rs 5 earned instantly for referring each friend.
Nayak comes with over 15 years of experience and had joined BoxTV back in 2011. At BoxTV, he provided the direction for product development, business planning & strategy, partnerships, content relationships, marketing/distribution, and sales strategy. He had earlier worked at companies like Microsoft, Cognizant Technology Solutions, Digital Globalsoft and Nvision Technologies, among others. He holds a BE degree in instrumentation engineering from BVB College of Engineering and Technology, Karnataka.
Started in September last year, BoxTV allows users to watch a range of content like movies, TV shows as well as short films. It works on a freemium model, which means part of the content is ad-supported free-to-user basis, while the rest is available on subscription basis. In addition to iOS and Android platforms, Box TV is also available on TV-connected platforms such as Roku. Its content partners include Sony Pictures, UTV and Shemaroo.
