HTC's One mini 2 now official, sports a 4.5 inch display, 13MP rear camera, 4G LTE & more
Within a month of launching its flagship device HTC One (M8) in the Indian market, Taiwanese manufacturer of tablets and smartphones HTC has now unveiled a mini version of the smartphone. Christened One mini 2, the device featuring a tightened 4.5 inch display and runs on the latest Android KitKat operating system.
According to the company, the One mini 2 will arrive in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), as well as Asia starting next month, with availability varying by country and region.
Although we wonder when HTC will get over this weird nomenclature for its flagship devices, don't be surprised if the next version is called 'One mini 2 plus One'.
Specifications
The smartphone sports a slightly smaller 4.5 inch HD Super LCD 2 capacitive touchscreen display (720x1280 pixels resolution) with 326 ppi pixel density, in comparison to M8's 5 inch full HD Super LCD3 capacitive touchscreen display. It runs on the Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS with HTC Sense 6 user interface. The device is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor and has 1GB of RAM. The front facing camera comes with a countdown timer for high-quality selfies. It also features 'Touch Up' software for subtle beauty enhancements that smoothens skin, eliminates red eye and adjusts facial contours, while preserving natural looks.
On the connectivity front, the device has Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, 3G & 4G LTE, as well as a microUSB port and a microSD card slot. The dimensions of the device are 137.4mm x 65mm x 10.6mm and its weight is 137gm.
