Ex-Yahoo exec Anand Chandrasekaran joins Bharti Airtel as products chief
Anand Chandrasekaran, who recently quit as senior director (global search products) at Yahoo, has joined telecom giant Bharti Airtel as its chief product officer. In his new role, Chandrasekaran will lead product conceptualization, design and development across the consumer segment of Airtel.
Chandrasekaran has vast experience in delivering products, growth and revenue in the mobile, consumer internet, search, maps/local and Big Data segments. At Yahoo, he focused on local search, listings, content partnerships & maps platform and service on PC, tablet and mobile. Previously, he was senior director & head of product (mobile) at the firm.
Prior to Yahoo, Chandrasekaran was director of product management at Openwave, driving new products, evangelism & product management for the mobile mediation product. Earlier, he had co-founded and helped build Aeroprise Inc.
Chandrasekaran holds a MS degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and a Bachelors degree in Engineering from PSG College of Technology (Coimbatore). He also has completed the Global Leadership and Public Policy Program at Harvard University. In the past, he also had served as Venture Advisor at Storm Ventures.
