Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Jio Infocomm (RJI) is the telecommunications arm of Reliance Industries Ltd. Last August, the company had applied to the department of telecom (DoT) for a unified licence, which will enable it to offer voice-based services on the broadband wireless access spectrum besides 4G data services as per the recently issued unified Licence guidelines issued by the department. According to a recent report, Reliance Jio would use the mix of airwaves it owns to offer both high-speed data and voice services. In addition to high-speed data, the 4G network will also provide voice services.
