Former Mid-Day chief Manajit Ghoshal floats media agency
Manajit Ghoshal, ex-MD and CEO of Mid-Day, has floated a company named Media Lounge Pvt Ltd with his friend Amardeep Singh Vig, the owner of Ronak Advertising.
Ghoshal, who left Mid-Day in February 2013, had joined Viiking Ventures as Group CEO in March 2013. After working for a year with Viiking, he has started the new venture. Earlier in 2000, Ghoshal started a dotcom venture before foraying into mainstream media industry.
"Media Lounge is floated with the idea of creating a full service agency which has companies specialising in media buying, digital media, creative services, event management, public relations services, running exhibition centres and conducting media courses. We are planning a pan India presence and will look at mergers and acquisitions," said Ghoshal.
"Ronak Advertising is the number one advertising agency in New Bombay. Now we plan to go pan India and develop into a full service agency with all the verticals. We will grow both organically and inorganically. With the strength of Ronak Advertising and Manajit Ghoshal on board as MD and CEO of the new company, we are confident, we will grow fast and achieve our goals," said Vig.
Ghoshal, who started his career with KPMG Group, had worked in various sectors like auditing, consulting, software and pharmaceuticals.
At Mid-Day, he was elevated as CEO in 2008 and was appointed as managing director of Mid-Day Infomedia in 2009. When the Jagran group acquired the print and digital business of Mid-Day, Ghoshal continued to hold charge of operations even as he reported to the JPL management. Ghoshal has also worked with Cadbury.
Ghoshal is an MBA, chartered accountant, cost accountant, company secretary and a member of CISI (London).
