MTV & Swipe Telecom launch MTV Slash 4X tablet for Rs 9,999; XOLO unveils Q700S smartphone
After launching the Swipe MTV Slash tablet last year, MTV India and Swipe Telecom have partnered once again to launch the successor to the tablet. Called MTV Slash 4X, the new device is faster, thinner and lighter than its predecessor. In addition, Lava's sub-brand XOLO has also launched the successor to the Q700 in the form of Q700S. The new smartphone runs on the Android operating system and is available for a price of Rs 9,999, the same price at which the MTV Slash 4X tablet is being offered as well.
Here is a look at the specifications of the devices.
MTV Slash 4X has a 7 inch HD IPS touchscreen display (1024x600 pixels resolution) and runs on the Android 4.2.2 Jellybean OS. It is powered by a 1.3 GHz Mediatek Quad Core processor and has 1GB of RAM. The internal memory of the device is 4MB that can be further expanded up to 32GB with a microSD card.
It comes with a 2MP rear camera that can record videos and a 0.3MP front facing camera for video calling. On the connectivity front, the device has Wi-Fi, 3G, and a microSD card slot. While the exact dimensions of the device are not available, its weight is 267 gm. It has GPS and comes with FM radio and dual-SIM capability. The company has provided a 3,000 mAh battery in the device and it will be available in black colour.
The tablet also offers a number of pre-loaded MTV apps that include Count your drinks app- keeps a tab of every drink you consume and how much money each friend at the table owes; and This Day in Music- a music trivia app that provides all the information in music one day at a time. Apart from these, the tablet also has updated versions of 'MTV India', 'MTV Funny', and the 'MTV Hottie' app.
Priced at Rs 9,999, the tablet will be available for purchase starting next month. However, for a limited period, it will be available on the Swipe Telecom website and ebay.in for as low as Rs 8,999.
The smartphone has a 4.5 inch IPS FWVGA touchscreen display (480x854 pixels resolution) with 218 ppi pixel density, and runs on the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system. It is powered by a 1.3GHz MT6582M quad-core processor and has 1GB of RAM. The internal memory of the device is 4MB that can be further expanded up to 32GB with a microSD card.
XOLO Q700S has an 8MP autofocus rear camera with BSI sensor and double LED flash that can also record full high definition videos (1080p) at 30 frames per second, and a front facing VGA camera for video calling. On the connectivity front, the device has Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, 3G, and a microSD card slot & microUSB port.
The dimensions of the device are 136mm x 64.6mm x 8.9mm and it comes with FM radio and dual-SIM capability. The company has provided a 1,800 mAh battery in the device that it claims will provide up to 23 hours of talk time (2G), 9.2 hours of video playback and 600 hours of standby time. It is capable of HD video playback and will be available in silver and gold colour options.
