Inkfruit founder Kashyap Dalal joins Simplilearn as chief product officer

Bangalore-based Simplilearn Solutions Pvt Ltd, the company behind Simplilearn.com, an online education and training destination for professional certification courses, has appointed Kashyap Dalal as chief product officer. In the new role, Dalal will lead the firm's plan to build Simplilearn's online platform, and will also be involved in category diversification and various other initiatives to drive rapid growth.

Dalal is the founder and former CEO of fashion merchandise e-tailer Inkfruit.com. One year ago Inkfruit was merged with Zovi.com.

Kashyap started his career with Unilever as part of the sales & marketing function. He holds an engineering degree from IIT Bombay and an MBA degree from IIM Lucknow.

Simplilearn was founded in 2009 by Krishna Kumar, a BE in Electronics & Communication from the National Institute of Technology Karnataka. It offers an online learning destination for young working professionals who are looking at career enhancement through certification courses across industry verticals. With study centres across the globe, Simplilearn.com offers over 80 certification courses across 11 categories. At present, Simplilearn trains about 4,000 professionals a month.

Last September, the firm had secured $10 million in a Series B round of funding from Helion Venture Partners and existing investor Kalaari Capital.
