CES 2014: Samsung unveils Galaxy NotePRO & TabPRO line of tablets, sporting 12.2, 10.1, & 8.4 inch displays
In the first edition of our Consumers Electronic Show (CES) 2014 coverage, we talked about Xperia Z1 Compact, a mini version of Sony's flagship Xperia Z1 smartphone, as well as LapTab, the first dual-boot tablet from Micromax that runs both Android and Microsoft operating systems (read here for more on that).
This time around, we will discuss in detail about Samsung's new tablet launches. The company has launched not one or two but 4 new tablets at the ongoing event, including a Galaxy NotePRO tablet and three Galaxy TabPRO tablets. While Galaxy NotePRO sports a 12.2-inch display, the TabPRO series sport a 12.2, 10.1, and 8.4 inch displays. Here is a look at the specifications of the tablets.
The 12.2 inch versions of Galaxy NotePRO and TabPRO sport what the company claims is the world's first 12.2-inch WQXGA widescreen (16:10) display, offering 2560x1600 pixel resolution with more than 4 million pixels. In addition, the tablets come with a personalised Magazine UX- specifically optimised for a large screen- that allows users to further tailor their Galaxy tablet experience. The UX enables them to organise their favourite content in an easy-to-use dashboard with automatic feed or news updates and then quickly access the most frequently used apps.
The Samsung Galaxy NotePRO and TabPRO (12.2) also come equipped with a variety of productivity tools that include:
Multi Window: Enables users to split the screen up into four different windows, as well as a virtual keyboard, providing them with enough space to type comfortably.
Samsung S Pen: Included with the Galaxy NotePRO, the S Pen delivers a more responsive and productive tablet experience with access to features such as Action Memo, Scrapbook, Screen Write and S Finder, among others.
Pen Window: Enables users to simply draw a window of any size on the screen, and instantly access in-application features such as YouTube or a calculator.
Remote PC: Allows users to access and control their home or office PC directly through their Galaxy NotePRO or TabPRO in order to seamlessly edit and save files remotely.
The Galaxy NotePRO and TabPRO also come pre-loaded with Cisco WebEx Meetings platform, a leading web conferencing solution that will enable users to share anything on their screen as well as start a WebEx meeting from their contact list. Samsung e-Meeting also provides collaboration capabilities by giving users the ability to share content during a meeting without having to access a central server or network.
The Samsung Galaxy NotePRO and TabPRO line will come in various connectivity options like Wi-Fi Only, Wi-Fi and 3G, or Wi-Fi and LTE.
