Rajesh Razdan, founder & CEO, mCarbon talks about shifts in VAS industry and scope of data-driven services

Canaan Partners-backed mCarbon Tech Innovation Pvt Ltd that runs the VAS firm mCarbon is looking at capitalising on data driven value added services going forth. Talking to Techcircle.in Rajesh Razdan, founder and CEO, mCarbon, shared that the industry is now at an inflection point with recent TRAI guidelines, an increase in number of smartphones and rising internet penetration.

"Even revenue wise things are changing. While earlier revenues were always skewed in favour of telcos, now they have started realising the importance of players like us and we are getting a fair share," he added. The firm's key clientele includes leading operators like Airtel, Idea, Vodafone, DoCoMo and MTS. It has recently forayed into neighbouring geographies like Bangladesh and Nepal and is looking to enter Africa soon.
