Games2win aims to acquire mobile game testing companies, looking at launching 3-4 games a week in 2014
Online gaming company Games2win.com India Pvt Ltd is looking to acquire mobile game testing firms. The acquisition plan is for new games that the company is looking to launch next year.
Through an announcement on its official blog, the company has invited applications from firms that have experience in mobile game testing and testing platforms. "G2W has planned a pipeline of games for 2014 onwards. These games include new games, updates to our existing games and ports of these games across the iOS, Android, Kindle and Windows platforms. To publish these games to a level of quality, we seek to acquire outstanding game testing companies to help us launch three-four mobile games a week," said the blog post.
Earlier this year, the online gaming company acquired Delhi-based casual games studio Backyard Game FactorRy Pvt Ltd for an undisclosed amount. Talking to Techcircle.in at that time, Alok Kejriwal, CEO and co-founder of Games2win had shared that they want to acquire around three more game companies, by the end of 2013. "These companies would be mobile gaming startups with a team of 5-50 people," he had said.
Headquartered in Mumbai with a presence in San Francisco, Games2win was set up by Kejriwal and Mahesh Khambadkone (COO) in 2007. The company currently has a 100-strong team. It owns 800 proprietary, casual games and has over 20 million monthly users across mobile and web properties. Its games have been generating downloads without any marketing and the company claims to have had 30 million downloads across the iTunes store and Google Play store in just a year. It is backed by Clearstone Venture Partners, Silicon Valley Bank, Nirvana Digital Fund, Nexus Venture Partners and ICICI Venture.
