Mumbai Angels invests in startups SkillWiz and MangoSense
Two startups, a career analytics company SkillWiz and education-startup MangoSense, have secured investments from Mumbai Angels. The amounts in both the deals are not disclosed.
SkillWiz, a career assessment firm, focuses on functional skill assessments, analytics and data-driven learning techniques for working professionals. It focuses on areas such as finance, marketing, sales, HR, supply chain and aptitude. It has raised investments from Mumbai Angels and other angel investors from India and Singapore. The capital will be used for product development, hiring talent, and for sales and marketing. It was founded by Kunal Varma, an IIT Roorkee alumnus and Anuj Kacker, a BSc in Mathematics from St Xavier's Mumbai. The development was first reported by The Economic Times.
"The analytical approach of assessing gaps in functional skills of graduates and providing training will improve the quality of young professionals," the report in ET quoted Ashpi Gupta, AVP, Mumbai Angels.
The other startup, MangoSense, which is based in Pune, allows users to create, share and learn from stories using simple tools for mobile and web. It was founded by Jagdish Repaswal in 2011. It was among the IIM-A's Startup Boot Camp Finalists in 2012. It has multiple products like MangoReader, MangoReach and MangoSocial. It allows publishers to add interactivity using videos, images, maps, games, HTML5 content, quizzes, ads, etc. It in turn helps generate more revenue for them by selling the books on various platforms like desktops, mobiles and tablets.
Earlier this year, Mumbai Angels also invested in another education startup called Edusoft along with Inventus Capital Partners.
