Rocket Internet forays into real estate classifieds, launches listing portal Lamudi in Asia, Africa and Latin America
German e-commerce incubator-cum-investor Rocket Internet has launched real estate listing business Lamudi in 12 countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America. It has also consolidated several of its real estate services, launched under different brand names in various markets over the past five months, under Lamudi.
Lamudi is currently available in Algeria, Bangladesh, Colombia, Kenya, Mexico, Morocco, Myanmar, Nigeria, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia and Uganda. Rocket Internet is planning to expand Lamudi to other countries as well in the upcoming weeks and months. However, it is not immediately clear if India figures in its list.
Founded early this year, Lamudi is a real estate marketplace that offers sellers, buyers, landlords and tenants a platform to find homes, land and commercial property online. The site also enables customers to easily find or sell their house, apartment, commercial property or land online. At the same time, property providers and agents get an online presence through a personalised webpage. Previously, Lamudi was active under the brand names Vamido (Africa), Ubilista (Latin America) as well as Zamudi and House (both in Asia).
