Reverie Language Tech ropes in former Vodafone India top executive Jonathan Bill as strategic advisor
Jonathan Bill, former senior vice president (innovation and business development) at Vodafone India, has joined the board of Bangalore-based Reverie Language Technologies Pvt Ltd as strategic advisor. In his new role, Bill will work closely with the Reverie management team on various aspects of strategic growth of the firm, with an emphasis on scaling its language platform for applications and content services, both for Indian and international markets.
An INSEAD (France) alumnus, Bill is a serial entrepreneur and seed investor and comes with 16 years of experience in the telecom and internet industry. He had worked with Vodafone in various positions in the UK and Egypt, and joined Vodafone India in February 2011. He has also founded PluggedIndia, which offers a customisable suite of services to digital businesses.
"Reverie has created a scalable product suite and platform that solves (customers') pain points both in India and the world. I am looking forward to supporting this team to bring the advantage of the internet to many millions of new users around the world," Bill said.
Founded in November 2009 by the siblings Arvind and Vivekanand Pani, and SK Mohanty, Reverie provides display technologies (language fonts and rendering engine), input method (keypads with predictive input capability) and text processing solutions (transliteration capability to render text in multiple languages) to various device manufacturers. Moreover, these solutions can be embedded not only into mobile phones, but also into set-top boxes, navigation devices and other appliances. Currently, Reverie's platform supports more than 45 languages.
