Elango, a Bangalore resident with interests in infrastructure business in India and the UAE, is an active angel investor who wants to keep a low profile. This Bangalore-based investor puts in $100-500K in one to three startups a year. Elango has so far invested in five startups in India—a payroll and HR software company, a clean tech startup, an e-com platform for ethnic wear, a membership-based self-drive car rental service and a social enterprise.

He is looking to invest in early-stage companies operating in sectors such as agriculture, clean technology, digital media, e-commerce, food and beverages, groceries, health and wellness, online travel, mobile, real estate, SaaS, specialty foods and supply chain management.
