India.com CEO Arvindra Kanwal quits to start new venture
Arvindra Kanwal, CEO of India.com, a news portal which aggregates news content related to entertainment, health, and business, etc from Zee News and Zee Business among others, has left the firm to take up entrepreneurship.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Kanwal quit India.com in June this year and founded a company, which is currently in the stealth mode. The name of the venture is not disclosed.

An alumnus of Sydenham Institute of Management Studies, Research and Entrepreneurship Education in Mumbai, Kanwal was appointed CEO of India.com in February 2010. He was responsible for building full feature content, commerce, community and messaging at India.com.
Prior to India.com, Kanwal was as chief revenue officer at SMSGupshup.com. Previously, he worked as chief media revenue officer at Rediff.com from 2003 to 2008. Kanwal also worked with Zee Entertainment Enterprises, Penske Media Corporation, Mail.com, Indian Express, Sony Pictures and Unilever India. He has close to three decades of experience in building companies in internet and mobile—media portals, transaction services, FMCG sales and marketing, etc.
Launched in 2011, India.com is a joint venture between Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd and US-based digital media firm Mail.com Media Corporation (MMC). The portal is now owned and operated by Mumbai-based India Webportal Pvt Ltd. India.com also runs portals such as Bollywoodlife.com, Cricketcountry.com and OnCars.in.
