Online video service Spuul.com ties up with IndiaCast for worldwide video streaming

Spuul Pvt Ltd, which owns and runs the online video service Spuul.com, has signed a multi-year, worldwide agreement with IndiaCast.com  for streaming video content.

Delhi-based IndiaCast Media Distribution Pvt Ltd is a joint venture between TV18 and Viacom18, and a content asset monetisation platform that distributes 26 domestic and international TV channels across platforms such as cable, DTH, IPTV, etc.

The multi-year agreement will enable Spuul to have streaming rights for about 60 per cent current and upcoming Hindi and regional movie titles from the library of Viacom18 Motion Pictures, Colors and Eenadu Television.

Starting this week, one can enjoy popular flicks on their computers and mobile devices on Spuul. One can also watch new releases whenever they are released in the market.

"The association between IndiaCast and Spuul acts as a value addition for both parties. Watching movies online lets the viewers exercise this option at their own convenience. Spuul has a huge base of film and TV enthusiasts who now with this association will be able to choose from IndiaCast's plethora of commercial and regional movies, enriching the viewer experience," said Anuj Gandhi, group CEO at IndiaCast.

Spuul streams Indian content (both paid and free) all over the world. The company was set up in Singapore in 2010 by three seasoned entrepreneurs including Sudesh Iyer, founder of Sony Entertainment TV in India, and S Mohan, founder of companies such as Accellion (mobile sharing platform) and buUuk (augmented reality mobile app maker). Spuul can be accessed via web, as well as on mobile (Android and iOS).

In December 2012, online video service iStream also partnered with IndiaCast.
