Bangalore-based online trip planner Mygola has unveiled a new feature to customise trips and has completely changed its user interface making it image-friendly with options such as drag and drop, theme selection, ask Mygola to recommend places for the time left in a day, etc. The company claims that a user can customise his/her itinerary in 15 minutes.

The portal follows a question-and-answer model for sharing information and working out travel arrangements. But with the new interface, users can have a visual itinerary much faster, in just 15 minutes, the company claims.

The new Mygola has features which enable users to select itineraries from existing ones explored by experts or users and can customise it and use filters to narrow down to the perfect trip. The users now have tabs such as 'favourites' and 'my plans'; they can also see their earlier trips in a separate tab. The portal also has sections such as 'popular' and 'editors pick'.

Mygola is a travel website with a difference: it provides each registered user with a personal travel planner who does all the necessary research and makes bookings for trips. The site was launched in 2009 by Anshuman Bapna and Prateek Sharma, both former batchmates at IIT-Bombay.

Mygola Technologies-owned Mygola raised $1 million in seed funding, led by venture capitalist Dave McClure (who is also the founding General Partner at Internet seed fund and start-up accelerator programme 500 Startups). Blumberg Capital as well as some angel investors (Lewis Cheng, Mac Harman, Sandeep Bapna, Priyavrat Bhartia, Aldo Monteforte and Alvaro Gutierrez) also took part in the round.
