WishTel unveils convertible tablet PC IRA Capsule for Rs 16,000
Indian technology startup WishTel has expanded its product portfolio by launching a convertible tablet PC called IRA Capsule, priced at Rs 16,000. WishTel already offers a number of low-cost tablets like IRA, IRA Thing 2, IRA Comet HD (supports 23 Indian languages) and BSNL IRA Icon HD, and with this new offering, the company aims to enter the portable, convertible tablet PC market. Here is a look at the specifications.
It comes with a metallic casing, features a 10.1 inch LED multi-touch capacitive touchscreen display (1024×786 pixel resolution) and runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system. It is powered by a 1.6 GHz dual-core processor and comes with 1 GB RAM. The internal memory is 16 GB that can be expanded up to an additional 32 GB with a microSD card.
IRA Capsule sports a 5 mega pixel rear camera that can record videos and a 0.3 MP front-facing camera for video calling. On the connectivity front, it has Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and 3G (it is designed with built-in SIM slot for 3G data connectivity), and comes with a microUSB port and an HDMI port. The company has provided an 8,000 mAh battery, which it claims will provide 5 hours of battery life. It will be available in black and metal colours.
The new device comes pre-loaded with a number of WishTel apps including Wish Learning, Wish Studio, Wish TV, Wish News, WishGames, and WishLibrary, among others. IRA Capsule will be available from the first week of April and will be distributed through a network of 350 distributors across 35 cities in the country.
