Social recruiting startup HireRabbit exits beta, launches web tools for hiring on Facebook
HireRabbit, a SaaS startup that enables businesses to build custom job and 'company culture' tabs on Facebook without the hassles of coding, has come out of closed beta and is up there on public domain. The company provides web tools to enterprises to facilitate hiring via Facebook.
Run by Bangalore-based Rabbit Software Pvt Ltd, the Microsoft Accelerator startup also helps recruiters embed photos/videos in culture tabs to make an engaging presence on Facebook – so that candidates are able to gain insight into the companies and their work culture. As a result, candidates can search, view and apply for desired jobs from inside the Facebook fan pages.
Set up in October 2011 by Prafull Sharma and Pipalayn Nayak, the site was in closed beta since June this year.
"While creating a Facebook job tab, a recruiter can add a fully functional job site to the company's fan page in minutes, without writing a single line of code. The culture tab is a fully customised microsite where a recruiter can post details about the company, which would help candidates know more about the recruiter without leaving the social media site. In addition, recruiters can include photos/videos to reveal the human side of the company," co-founder Prafull Sharma told Techcircle.in.
Moreover, HireRabbit automatically syncs the Facebook job tab with a company's existing hiring system and posts current jobs on Facebook and Twitter. It also generates reports to help companies determine trends and ROI on their social recruiting activities.
"Facebook pages are a great way to engage with candidates and provide a window into company culture," said co-founder Prafull Sharma. "Since most recruiters don't have programming or web development skills, creating a professional employer presence, which is the first business impression on Facebook, is actually quite difficult," added Sharma.
The service is currently available for a 30-day free trial. After that period, subscribers will be charged $9-$199 per month, depending on the number of additional features, such as custom branding, priority support and advanced admin tools.
"We have 200 sign-ups already, out of which 10 per cent are paid customers. Most of our clients are in the US, followed by India," said Sharma.
But why has HireRabbit opted for Facebook when there is the professional network LinkedIn with more than 170 million users?
"Well, LinkedIn is no doubt a great tool for recruiting senior to mid-level professionals. But Facebook is the second most populated website in the world with 950 million-plus users and broader demographic. So it can't be ignored for recruiting across the corporate ladder," concluded Sharma.
