Prakash Gurumoorthy joins Group FMG as MD, India

Group FMG, a global provider of marketing and media solutions, has announced the appointment of Prakash Gurumoorthy as its managing director in India. He will be based at Group FMG's production facility in Chennai and will be responsible for managing the Indian arm, including all aspects of business development, technology, strategy, operations and profit & loss in the region.

Prior to this appointment, Gurumoorthy was with Cognizant Technology Solutions where he managed a $100 million portfolio and operated from New York and New Jersey. Earlier, he was the COO at Photon Infotech Ltd, a mobile apps and cloud experience company.

Commenting on the appointment, Group FMG CEO Dilip Keshu said, "India houses one of our three global centres of production and Gurumoorthy brings to Group FMG the competence required for providing clients with a transformational experience."

Headquartered in New York, Group FMG also has offices in London, Bangalore and Chennai. The company was formed with the integration of Whitefield (a marketing solutions company backed by the private equity firm India Value Fund Advisors and Neeraj Bhargava's Zodius Capital) and FMG, in which a consortium led by IVFA invested around $20 million to acquire a majority stake. Group FMG creates rich media content across all major channels like digital, social and mobile, and caters to leading brands. It also serves as a production studio to agencies and its key clients include Disney, Reader's Digest, Penguin and BBC in the media & publishing space; IBM, Yahoo and Microsoft in the technology segment and TAG Heuer, Stuart Weitzman and Lord & Taylor in retail/luxury & fashion sector.

In July this year, Group FMG appointed Mark Inskip (who was working with Ogilvy & Mather as regional director, consulting) as its MD for the company's European operations.
