One97 appoints Comviva's Milind Pathak as global head of new business

Mobile internet company One97 Communications has appointed Milind Pathak as its global head of new business. Prior to this appointment, Pathak was a vice-president at Comviva Technologies Ltd and leading the Asia market unit.

Pathak holds an engineering degree from the University of Pune and a PG in Marketing from the University of Mumbai. Before joining Comviva, he was working as the country manager for Buongiorno Hong Kong. At One97, he will look after the company's expansion plans across global markets.

Commenting on the appointment, Vijay Shekhar Sharma, managing director of One97, said, "With his deep understanding of the direct-to-consumer business, and mobile, media convergence, I believe Milind will be able to create a great demand for our offerings in the global markets."

"I have known Vijay for many years and we have been toying with the idea of working together for a long time," said Pathak. "I am excited to join a solid team and look forward to building one of the largest mobile internet companies in India and across emerging markets. The future holds promise for the mobile payments and mobile internet industries, and we will work on attaining leadership in these domains, globally," he added.
