Mobile security solution Kepplr crosses 20K users in two months
Kepplr, a cloud-based cross platform data sync and device security solution that helps locate a mobile phone, retrieve call logs, remotely wipe out data and lock the device, has crossed 20,000 registered users since its launch in September this year, according to a top executive of the company.
Keppler, run by Bangalore-based United Mobile Apps Pvt Ltd (UMA) which raised $1 million in Series A funding led by Mumbai Angels, is now looking to hit 100,000 user base in the next calendar year.
"We are in talks with leading mobile handset makers in India and abroad to integrate this app with mobile phones," said Vasuki Setlur, vice president, product management at UMA. "The discussion with one of the manufacturers is in the final stages and we will launch it soon," Setlur said without naming the company.
Kepplr enables users to click pictures on phone and get them instantly on laptop and tablet over the air. Its device tracking and anti-theft feature, Protect, helps users to locate their phone on a map, trigger a remote alarm even if the phone is in the silent mode, retrieve call logs, remotely wipe out data and lock the device. It also alerts the user's friends if someone tries to insert in a new SIM into the device.
The solution is currently available on Android OS and will soon be launched for iOS and online platforms so that users can sync an Android phone, iPad and Windows laptop together if need be. It allows users to get 1 GB of cloud storage free of cost. It can be upgraded according to the user's requirements on a monthly subscription charge. The user can access the content anytime on Kepplr account and can access content across the devices.
Set up in 2009 by Sriram V Iyer and Arun Samudrala, UMA is focused on next generation wireless deployments by providing innovations and platforms in the domains of Connection Management, Device Management and Data Synchronization.
