PC & video games retailer Game4u launches 'download & pay' service

Game4u, the retail arm of Milestone Interactive Group that sells PC and video games, gaming consoles and accessories, has launched a download service called downloads4u. With this new service in place, Game4u claims to become the first Indian e-tailer offering a fully integrated digital gaming platform for its customers. Besides its e-tailing portal, Game4u has around 8 brick-and-mortal stores across the country.

More than 300 gaming titles in the price range of Rs 99-Rs 2,499 are available for download on the portal with local payment options. The company is now looking to increase the number of games to around 1,000 by adding more publishers. Users have to create an account to avail this service.

Milestone Interactive Group was founded in 1997 by Sharma and currently focuses on four areas – games distribution, games and accessories retailing, games publishing and ICT.

Commenting on the launch, Milestone Interactive's chairman & CEO Jayont R Sharma said, "Through downloads4u, we wanted to introduce a unique and easy-to-use service for Indian consumers to get PC and Mac games. This service will enhance reach and availability of PC games to consumers in far-flung markets, currently not reachable through physical distribution."
