Presentation app developer Deck App wins Qualcomm's QPrize 2012

Deck App, which helps create simple presentation/slideshows on mobile devices, has bagged the India edition of Qualcomm's QPrize 2012 contest. The startup received $100,000 in prize money.

A free application, Deck is available on iOS and Android smartphones and Tablets. The user can export his presentations to animated ones that can work on any Flash-enabled device. Using the app, one can also use own pictures in a deck and images that are stored locally on an iPad.

Uberlabs, whose gazeMetrix allows media buyers and media monitoring firms to identify, measure and analyze presence of brand logos in video streams coming off live TV streams, won the second prize. It bagged $25,000 from Microsoft.

Launched in 2009 by Qualcomm Ventures, the QPRIZE is a global competition aimed at promoting innovation in the technology industry. The competition identifies the industry's most promising early-stage technology startups and provides funds to eight regional winners -- Brazil, China, India, Israel, North America, South Korea, Western and Eastern Europe. Deack App will be eligible to compete against other regional finalists in the QPRIZE Grand Finale competition for an additional $150,000.
