Valyoo ropes in former Zynga exec as CTO
Valyoo Technologies, the company that runs e-commerce portals lenskart.com, watchkart.com, bagskart.com and jewelskart.com , has appointed Manoj Sharma as its Chief Technology Officer (CTO).
Prior to this appointment, Sharma was director of engineering at social gaming company Zynga and before that he was VP, engineering, at MySpace. He is a graduate in electrical engineering from MITS Gwalior, and M.Tech from REC Kurukshetra.
Peyush Bansal, founder & CEO, Valyoo Technologies said on the appointment, "Given that technology levels are still at a nascent stage in India, we are pleased to bring in Manoj Sharma with his wealth of international experience in driving the business management and company operations to scale desired heights in the coming future."
"Valyoo Technologies has been rightly placed as a key market leader and initiator and can very easily lead the growth path through its product and market strategies," Sharma stated on his new role.
Founded in 2010, Valyoo Technologies Pvt Ltd raised $4 million in first round of funding from IDG Ventures India. It's portals LensKart.com, WatchKart.com, BagsKart.com and JewelsKart.com indulge in a lot of cross-promotion and follow a tab approach to integrate and possibly cross-sell its products from different e-com sites. JewelsKart was the latest to join the bandwagon in February this year. The company is planning to go for another round of funding to expand existing segments, increase product range, boost warehouse capacity, improve customer support and to build a stronger team.
