Radiowalla to broadcast Sri Lanka Premier League live
Cricket lovers will be able to hear live commentary of the upcoming Sri Lanka Premier League live online. Bangalore-based Radiowalla Network Pvt. Ltd. has announced that it will be broadcasting the Mahindra Sri Lanka Premier League (SLPL) live on Radiowalla and on the official Facebook pages of Radiowalla, SLPL and the official website of SLPL. The series, which has already started, is to end on August 31.
Radiowalla, an internet radio service run founded by Anil Srivatsa and Harvinderjit Bhatia, opened up its service recently for public. Radiowalla offers music and non-music streaming audio channels delivered via broadband across most digital and mobile platforms.
The SLPL live commentary is being delivered by a team of professional commentators and amateurs also.
Commenting on this, Srivatsa, CEO and co-founder of Radiowalla Network, said, "It would be great fun for listeners all over the world to be able to tune in and keep abreast with the game while engaged in other activity like work or social engagements. Srivastava is also the former CEO of Kings XI Punjab (one of the cricket teams of the Indian Premier League) and former COO of Radio Today Broadcasting (Meow 104.8 FM).
"We are looking forward to bringing back the old world experience of Radio commentary again to fans" said Bhatia, co-founder of Radiowalla Network.
Earlier this month, Radiowalla hired former Radio Mirchi executive Rajeev Banerjee as COO to steer its plans and strategy.
In January this year, the company secured an undisclosed amount in Series A funding from Ojas Ventures Partners. It also runs in-store radio channel under the brand SpotRadio.
