Former HCL top exec joins Sify as CEO

NASDAQ-listed Indian Internet and IT firm Sify Technologies Ltd  has announced the appointment of Kamal Nath as its Chief Executive Officer. Nath will lead the team that is dedicated to Sify 3.0, a project aimed at  making Sify a 'services and solutions leader'.

Prior to joining Sify, Nath,   a BE in Electronics & Communications from BITS, was heading India-sales at HCL Technologies. Nath, who has been with HCL since 2006, was also a founder member of HCL Comnet, the infrastructure services division of HCL Technologies.

Commenting on his appointment, Raju Vegesna, Chairman & MD, Sify Technologies said, "Kamal has led various transformational engagements with large enterprises, incubated business lines, created innovative business models and promoted entrepreneurial decision-making. His knowledge of systems integration services, IT infrastructure management services, technology integration services and strategic outsourcing will be vital to achieving the next phase of growth for Sify."

In May, Sify had joined hands with video conferencing company Vidyo to launch Sify videomeet, a video conferencing service for enterprises and emerging businesses.
