Jagran Prakashan's digital revenues up 23.18% to Rs 2.1Cr in Q1
Jagran Prakashan Ltd, the publishers of leading Hindi newspaper 'Dainik Jagran', has seen digital business revenue (which includes online and mobile) rising to Rs 2.10 crore, an increase of 23.18 per cent from Rs 1.70 crore in Q1, FY2012.
The company's digital presence includes the news portals Jagran.com, Jagranjosh.com and JagranPost.Com (the English version of Jagran.com), classified portal Khojle.in, mobile version of Jagran.com (for iOS) and the gaming portal Jeetle.com.
Its mobile offerings also include Jagran's mobile site (m.Jagran.com) and IVR (interactive voice response)/AVR (automated voice response)/SMS through its short code service 57272.
The company claims that all of its digital properties reach nearly 7.5 million unique users.
Overall the media group reported total operating revenues of Rs 317.52 crore for Q1 of FY13, an increase of 4.23 per cent in comparison to Rs 304.65 crore in the same quarter last year. Print business revenues was pegged at Rs 291.14 crore, up 8.16 per cent over the year ago period. Circulation revenues at Rs 64.05 crore was up 10.04 per cent, while event and outdoor revenues stood at Rs 24.28 crore, as against Rs 33.73 crore in same period last year.
The company's operating profits was at Rs 78.82 crore as against Rs 82.65 crore a year ago, while PAT stood at Rs 55.73 crore, up by 12.10 per cent from Rs 49.72 crore in same quarter last year.
