Infibeam's BuildaBazaar extends platform to travel agents
Ahmedabad-based e-commerce firm Infibeam.com, which launched BuildaBazaar, a Cloud service for retailers and entrepreneurs interested in e-commerce, has just extended the platform to travel stores.
Set up in May 2011, BuildaBazaar allows users to upload their product catalogues, add products from Infibeam.com, organise merchandise, receive payments, and track & fulfil orders from buyers online. A couple of months ago, BuildaBazaar crossed the 10,000-mark in terms of e-commerce store implementation on its platform.
On the new platform for travel agents, store owners can access travel inventory from various travel industry players for flight, hotel and bus booking, and will get paid for every booking done via their stores. In addition, store owners can add their local travel inventory, which is not easily available, and can also focus on specific tours and packages.
Speaking to Techcircle.in, Manu Midha, vice-president (strategy and planning) of Infibeam, said, "This opens up a massive opportunity for travel agents, corporate houses, individuals and entrepreneurs to open their own online travel presence and offer travel services immediately using the BuildaBazaar platform."
According to him, "There is huge scope for local and global tours and packages to be made available online. Local agents often have access to unique travel inventory and deals can be made available online using BuildaBazaar for travel."
