Accel-backed Trivone launches online sports community Khelnama

Promoted by veteran journalist L. 'Subu' Subramanyan and backed by Accel Partners, Trivone acquired the management rights for three IT portals – Techtree.com, ChannelTimes.com and CXOToday.com – from UTV last year. Recently, it acquired the Bollywood entertainment portal Chakpak and automobile portal WheelsUnplugged. The firm also undertakes managed services including creating, editing, sourcing and packaging content for online delivery, and provides outsourcing solutions for all digital content assets to a wide variety of clients.

"Khelnama is part of our overall strategy to focus on specific vertical markets and create highly differentiated content. Not only would it offer popular sports coverage but would actually lay emphasis on upcoming sports in the country – at the grassroots level as against only international contests," added Subramanyan, founder and CEO of Trivone Digital Services.
