MediaTek partners with Gameloft to enhance mobile gaming

Taiwan's MediaTek Inc. and France's mobile gaming firm Gameloft have announced a global partnership where Gameloft will support all gaming apps on MediaTek's feature and smartphone platforms.

MediaTek has also announced that its latest single chip solution MT6255 will come pre-loaded with Asphalt 6: Adrenaline, Gameloft's popular racing game, as well as with the trial versions of three other games – Block Breaker 3, Assassin's Creed Revelations and Brain Challenge 3.

Incorporated in 2000 Gameloft is a publisher of social and digital games. It creates games for all digital platforms. The company has also been present in the Chinese market for more than 10 years with strong business and creative teams.

Regarding the new partnership, Ching-Jiang Hsieh, president of MediaTek, said, "Together, we will be able to bring even more value to mobile phones, thereby increasing the competitive edge of our customers in the mobile phone industry."

Founded in 1997, MediaTek is listed on Taiwan Stock Exchange. It is a fabless semiconductor company for wireless communications and digital multimedia solutions. The firm's product portfolio includes SOC system solutions for wireless communications, high-definition TV, optical storage and DVD, and Blu-ray products. Last year, it invested $20 million in BK Modi's mobile VAS firm Spice Digital Ltd.
