Vserv.mobi Appoints VP For SE Asia; Keen To Grow In Emerging Markets
Mumbai-based mobile advertising network Vserv.mobi has appointed Vikas Gulati as vice president - business development for South East Asia. Gulati will be based in Singapore and look after the company's growth in the region.
Gulati has around 14 years experience in the media and marketing industry. Prior to VServ he was vice president - marketing and business development, Asia at Sprice.com, an online travel network (now a part of Travelport). Before that he has also worked at ZenithOptimedia and Carat India among other companies.
Dippak Khurana, co-founder and CEO of Vserv.mobi, said, "Expanding our operations in the burgeoning mobile market of South East Asia is a key phase of our growth strategy. This new hiring in this region will help us leverage newer opportunities and strengthen our goal of being the number one mobile ad network in emerging markets."
Speaking on his appointment, Gulati said, "With our differentiating proposition in the marketplace, we are attractively poised to capitalise on this growing demand of the mobile medium amongst developers, publishers and advertisers in South East Asia."
Established in January 2010 by Dippak Khurana and Ashay Padwal, VServ is backed by IDG Ventures from which it received series A round of funding to the tune of $3 million and as a part of the deal Manik Arora and Karan Mohla from IDG Ventures joined Vserv's board. Ajay Adiseshann, founder and managing director of the mobile payment company PayMate, has also invested an undisclosed amount in Vserv.
