Hazel Media Launches Mobile App MobQuery For Data Collection Via Mobile Phones
Noida-based technology startup focused on mobile apps, Hazel Media has launched its enterprise product platform MobQuery that enables collection and management of data using mobile devices. The product system operates across BlackBerry, Android, J2ME (Java) and Windows Phone platforms and also on the low cost Aakash Android Tablet.
MobQuery enables an enterprise to manage huge amounts of data (hundreds of millions of information points about users, customers, resources, or research targets, flowing in and out all the time, comparable to the complexity of Twitter or Facebook, but in Data Management domain). MobQuery utilizes scalable cloud architecture to achieve fast retrieval and storage timings, while maintaining data consistency.
One of the projects where MobQuery is being utilized is in the state of Bihar. MobQuery works with a large number of BlackBerry smartphones for data collection across villages of the Indian state. It utilizes BlackBerry platforms and secure data transmission capabilities to instantly collate huge amounts of data to central locations and process them for analysis and reporting.
Users are able to use their BlackBerry smartphones to interact with the MobQuery system entirely in Hindi language on their mobile screens, including data collection and graphical reports and charts customized for the smaller form factor.
Besides MobQuery, Hazel Media has four other mobile apps to its kitty including mPustak, a vernacular language interface for mobile phones. It can facilitate data management in multiple languages such as Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Arabic, Swahili, Thai, Malay among others even if the mobile phone or Tablet doesn't support Unicode or fonts.
It also has a cricket info app called CricMeter, a conference and events platform called ConfMobile and a hospital info app called Healthofon.
Hazel Media was launched in July 2010 by Manish Malik. Prior to starting Hazel Media, Malik was product head of mobile internet at Spice Mobiles and has also worked at Adobe Systems in the past.
