BigFlix+ Ties Up With Sony; To Come Preloaded With Bravia TV & Tablets
Big Flicks Pvt Ltd, the digital media arm of of Reliance Group, has announced its tie-up with Sony India in the form of the BIGFLIX Plus application. This application will allow users to stream and download a catalogue of over 600 movies at a subscription fee of Rs 249 per month. The application will come preloaded in Sony Bravia Internet TV and Sony's Tablets S & P.
Tadato Kimura, general manager (Marketing) Sony India, said, "We plan to extend our association with BIGFLIX+ for our range of VAIO laptops and Xperia Smartphones in the near future."
BigFlix moved from DVD rental business last November to online streaming of video on demand. It had launched BigFlix plus an online VoD service that allows the user to watch movies by paying a monthly subscription fee.
Shreyash Sigtia, business head at BigFlicks, said, "This partnership would give our Indian audience a chance to experience a premium movie on demand service without the hindrance of any ads."
Recently, BigFlix partnered with Unisys to stream 200 Bollywood movie titles and music videos.
It boasts of 600+, movies including recent hits like Bodyguard, Aarakshan, Singham, Pyaar ka Punchnama, Raajneti, Wake Up Sid, Raajneeti, No One Killed Jessica among others. Earlier, BigFlix had tied up with UTV Motion Pictures under a licence deal wherein more than 45 UTV movie titles were made available to BigFlix plus subscribers.
