ApnaCircle Launches Career Visualizer For Users; Merges Hubs, Communities & Forums As Groups
India's LinkedIn clone ApnaCircle, has added a new feature called 'Career Visualizer' for its users, a tool for creating profile and connecting with other users. With the new feature, users will experience auto completion of school/college names, a finder which will automatically search and suggest friends/alumns/former colleagues right at the edition page, request for recommendations among other features on one page.
They can also edit the profile in a single page taking the pain point of visiting four pages to edit the profile. Whenever a user edits his/her profile, he/she will get to see the first glimpse of the new 'Career Timeline' – a visual map of the professional experience displayed right in the profile.
Yogesh Bansal, founder and CEO, ApnaCircle said, "We wanted to make such value additions to the website that made the entire user experience short, convenient yet an interactive one. With Career Timeline now the profile interface helps members create more up to date work profiles. "
Another change which is being brought about is reforming all Hubs, Communities and Forums under one name Groups.
Bansal added, "ApnaCircle.com wanted to simplify the usage of the website as the site had two products with a very similar function."
Apnacircle was founded by Yogesh Bansal in June 2007 with an investment of Rs 45 lakh ($100,000) and an angel funding from Sabeer Bhatia of Hotmail fame. The business and career networking site was acquired by French firm Viadeo in February 2009.
