Ibibo Says Mobile Browser Hits 6 Million Downloads
Consumer Internet firm Ibibo claims it's mobile browser named iBrowser(it has nothing to do with Apple Inc incase you are wondering!) has clocked 6 million downloads since its formal launch in December 2011, even as the browser was actually launched almost one year ago.
The mobile browser has been brought in India jointly by Ibibo and Chinese Internet company, Tencent. Tencent in China runs the mobile browser, named as QQ Browser which has 330 million users. It is currently available for Android, Symbian and Java based phones.

Its navigation with popular Indian websites are pre-embedded and segregated as per categories. The search is powered by Google, Yahoo and Bing. Users can open multiple WAP sites in different tabs and there is also a multi-threaded download feature, where users can check the status of all downloads in one view.
iBrowser also offers a feature called Night Surfing Mode that protect users' eyes in the dark and makes extended browsing more comfortable. The users can customise and personalise the look of their iBrowser skin. Moreover, it works on a free-link technology that the company says makes browsing on wireless networks more stable.
