Vodafone India Launches Zoozoo Online Comics On Facebook
Vodafone India has launched an online comic series featuring the Super Zoozoo called 'The Adventures of Super Zoozoo'. The comics were conceptualized and created by Vodafone India's digital agency OgilvyOne Worldwide and they will be available exclusively on Vodafone Zoozoo's Facebook page. The comics will introduce readers to the black and white Zoozoo universe (where crocodiles invade picnics and superheroes don't need secret identities) and users without Vodafone connections can also access the comics on their mobile phones browsers.
Super Zoozoo had first made his debut in 2011 to promote Vodafone's 3G campaign and in the 3G commercials he was portrayed as a superhero with powers similar to the comic book superhero- Superman.
Anuradha Aggarwal, vice president, brand communication and insights, Vodafone India said, "We have seen that our fans constantly demand new Zoozoo material and a comic series was the most natural extension of the Zoozoos. So far, fans only knew Zoozoos through short ads or through content on our Facebook page. These comics are a great way for readers to get to know the Zoozoo world in all its quirky sweetness." She also mentioned that Vodafone plans to extend the comics with new Zoozoo characters and the company will also give readers a chance to contribute their ideas for the comics.
Zoozoo's have always been a craze among viewers (just look at the number of views Vodafone's Zoozoo videos get on YouTube) and they were largely promoted in the Indian Premier League (IPL) as well. The Zoozoo's Facebook page already has close to 3 million likes as of now and with the new comics, this number will only increase with time. But all said and done we still feel sorry for the hard working 'Chinese Pug' of Hutch who lost the limelight and got unemployed because of Zoozoos (after Vodafone acquired Hutch in India). Guess it's a 'Zoozoo eat Dog' world after all.
