iYogi Expands To Middle East, Ties Up With Al-Futtaim Group

Gurgaon-based remote consumer tech support company, iYogi Technical Services has joined hands with Techserve, a part of conglomerate Al-Futtaim Group, to deliver on-demand remote tech support for consumers and businesses across GCC states in the Middle East.

Techserve is the service, sales and solutions company for Al-Futtaim's Electronics, Engineering & Technologies (EET) division. Brands serviced by the Al-Futtaim group company include Panasonic, Toshiba, Sanyo, Nokia, Bose, Sony Vaio and Aftron to name a few.

iYogi's 24/7 tech support services which is already available in the USA,the UK, Canada and Australia will augment Techserve's already available wide spread tech support service channels including in-store, on-site, depot repairs across a wide range of consumer electronic brands.

On demand remote tech support delivered through this alliance will be available for consumers and businesses across GCC states including Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and United Arab Emirates.

Vishesh Bhatia, group director, Electronics, Engineering & Technologies, Al Futtaim Group said: "As technology increasingly becomes an integral part of the home and office, technical support requirements are becoming more complex and sophisticated. Technology improvements allow support services to be easily provided remotely at more cost effective rates and this is where this new service will step in."

iYogi has raised over $58 million in four rounds of funding with the last one being a $30 million round led by Sequoia Capital India in series D  funding in December 2010. Its other investors include Canaan, SVB Capital Partners, SAP Ventures and Draper Fisher Jurvetson.

Three months back, iYogi appointed three new independent directors - Sridar Iyengar, Subhash Lallah and Chandra K Gujadhur to its board in a move which seemed to be a precursor to its IPO.
